Patricia Fontenot

Patricia was a native of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and a graduate of Kennedy High School in San Diego, California. She had been a resident of Carlyss, Louisiana for the past 30 years and currently resided at Holly Hill Nursing Home. She was a cosmetologist a number of years, worked at South Central Bell and later graduated as an LPN from Sowela Technical College. After working in the medical industry in the Lake Charles area, she retired due to health issues in 1999.

Survivors include her children, Mark Fontenot of Marlton, New Jersey; Matthew Fontenot and Michael James Fontenot both of Crystal City, Texas; David Wayne Fontenot and Rhonda Ann Fontenot both of Sulphur, Louisiana; sister, Rachel Triemert of Stillwater, Minnesota; brother, Richard (Jan) Baril of Casselberry, Florida; one brother-in-law, Douglas (Stephenie) Fontenot of Carlyss; three sister-in-laws, Louise (Harold) Breaux of Scott, Louisiana, Nancy (Huey) Spell of Carlyss and Cathy (Frank) Hughes of The Woodlands, Texas; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Peanut of Marlton, New Jersey.

She was affectionately referred by her husband of 45 years, James C. Fontenot, as his “bride”. James preceded her in death six months ago. Preceded also by her parents, Leo and Francoise Baril; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Thelma Fontenot.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 7th at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, Louisiana. Father Joseph Aquino will officiate. Interment will follow at Mimosa Pines in Carlyss. Honorary Pallbearer will be David Richard. Floral arrangements may be forwarded to Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
