Nye was born in Sulphur, Louisiana on October 16, 1973, and died at 7:30 p.m. on February 9, 2015, in Baylor-Carrollton Hospital. He is the son of Louis Rousell and Nora S. Cooper.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Michael (Tamara) Lacy of Fulshear, Texas; two very special nephews, Reagan and Kyler Lacy; a special aunt, Bettye C. Brown as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and many good friends as well as his faithful dog- “Hunny”.
He is predeceased by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Durwood B. (Sybil) Simpson, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Clinton Cooper; as well as his great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nye (Ruth) Morton, Sr.
Nye was an avid actor and performed at McNeese State University and in Palo Duro Canyon in “Texas” for three seasons, ending with the 30th anniversary as the old prospector. He later moved to Dallas where he worked at The Watertower Theatre and Contemporary Theatre of Dallas, as well as others in surrounding area. He was employed as a legal assistant for Brian Loncar Associates of Dallas.

A celebration of Nye’s life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 13th in Celebration Worship Center. Visitation will be 5 – 9 p.m. Thursday, February 12th in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home and will resume at 9 a.m. Friday in the church. The Rev. Max Docusen, Rev. Byron Boykin, and Rev.
