Mrs. Marilyn was a longtime resident of Sulphur who was retired Special Ed school teacher from Vinton Elementary. She graduated from McNeese State University with her Bachelors degree in Education. She loved cooking, sewing, singing but especially singing at church, and was a longtime member at Olivet Baptist Church in Sulphur. She was very involved in church activities. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Ray Bratton of Sulphur; a daughter, Sarah Myres and husband, Bobby of Carencro, LA; a granddaughter, Morgan Myres of Carencro; a brother, Hugh Anderson and wife, Donna of Bethany, OK; mother-in-law, Sarah Louise Bratton of Ranger, TX; a sister-in-law, Janie Friedlein and husband, Mike of Nellysford, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Cletus Anderson, brother, Ramon Anderson, two sisters, Oleta Crowell, and Jeannie Lipsmeyer.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Walker officiating. Burial will be on Sunday, April 3, 2016 in Ranger, TX.
