He was a native of Delhi and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1963. Lester was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Masonic Lodge #424 in Sulphur, Scottish Rite, and he was a Shriner. He loved taking care of his animals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Randy Ann Wallace of Carlyss; his mother, Mary Lou Wallace of Sulphur; his son, Jody Wallace and wife, Emily of Carlyss; his daughters, Melissa Curtis of Houston, Texas, and Tracy Wallace of Beaumont, Texas; his brother, Dennis Wallace and wife, Esther of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Chase Wentzell, Carson Curtis, Jacob Hastings, Mia Wallace, Ian Smith, and Claire Smith; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Yates Wallace; and his father, Therman Wallace.
His funeral will be at noon Tuesday, March 12, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Russell Beard will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
