He was born February 1, 1956, to L.G. and Aimie Ruth Thomas. He was a 1975 graduate of Sulphur High School and a member of the Golden Tor football team. After graduating, he worked 27 years at the Hackberry Strategic Petroleum Reserve as an operator and completed employment as the Site Safety Manager. He worked six years at Dynamic Industries as Site Safety Manager and completed his career with Alfred Palma as the Safety Manager on the Sasol project.
Kenny had a love for the outdoors. You could find him hunting, fishing, or rodeoing. He owned KT2 Ranch where he raised cattle for a number of years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and sharing his love for the outdoors. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his daughter Shannon and son-in-law Eric Pitre, and their children, Keenan and Korbin of Moss Bluff; son, Kevin Thomas and wife Sarah, and their children, Darien and Aralyn of Sulphur; his mother, Aimie Ruth Thomas of Sulphur; his brother, David Thomas and wife Bobbi of Carlyss; and his companion, Hope of Lake Charles. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, L.G. Thomas; and sister, Kathi Thomas.
A service in celebration of Kenny’s life will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Bennett will officiate. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home. Internment will follow at Farquhar Cemetery.
