John was a life resident of Sulphur, he served his country in the Army in the South Pacific during WWII and was a lifetime member of the American Legion and V.F.W. Many enjoyable years were spent volunteering at the V.F.W. Post # 8107 where he developed numerous lifelong friends. He retired as a Chemical Technician from Olin after 30 + years of employment. John loved gardening, spending time with family and friends and barbequing as well as a good political discussion! He was a member of Woodman of the World.
He is survived by his sons, John LeDoux(Tommie), Stephen E. LeDoux(Susan), Edward Lee LeDoux(Diane); grandchildren Samuel Kyle, Eric Thomas, John Francis and James Stephen LeDoux, Jennifer Dawn Frezell, Andrew Davis and Peter Kyle LeDoux; great grandchildren John Philip, Robert Francis, Ryan Elizabeth, Georgia Abigail, Elizabeth Lyne, James Stephen, Jr., Susan Melrose, Frances Sutton, Madeline Sue and Abbigial Lynn; mother of his children Georgia B. Burrell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Alida Landry LeDoux; brothers Louis LeDoux and Cleveland LeDoux; sisters Agnes LeDoux Hantz and Eunice LeDoux Broussard; half brothers Dewey and Alvin LeDoux.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 20, 2010 in the chapel of Hixson - Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday from 6 until 8 pm.
The family would like to thank the staff of High Hope Nursing Home for their dedicated care to John over the years.
