Jerry James Peltier, 80, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2021. He was born on April 14, 1941 to his late parents, Ignac and Lula Mae Trahan Peltier in New Iberia.
Jerry was a native of New Iberia, LA and a 1959 graduate of New Iberia High. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 13 years serving two tours in Vietnam. He was also a member of the United States Army National Guard. He married the love of his life, Glenda Joyce Peltier on December 23, 1962. They later moved to Sulphur, LA. He was a charter member of Victory Worship Center in Sulphur. Jerry was an electrician with Mobile Oil Pipeline retiring after 30 years of service. He enjoyed doing carpentry work and was known for his many skills in different trades and was always willing to help a friend in need.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gary Peltier of Sulphur; and two grandsons, Braiden and Bryce Peltier of Sulphur. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 57 years, Glenda Joyce Peltier; and sister, Mary Peltier Touchet.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021 and will resume at 8-10 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Jerry's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry LaFleur officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
