He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3015 where he was a 3rd Grand Knight and the Cajun Horseshoe Pitching Association.
He loved fishing, cooking for others and spending time with his family. Robert was a master plumber for over 28 years where he was employed with Bergeron's Plumbling &Heating, he was an inspector for the City of Sulphur for 17 1/2 years and the last 11 years he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor for H&H Metal.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Edith Bergeron of Sulphur; son, James “Jr” Bergeron and wife, Nicole of Eunice, LA; daughters, Patty Dommert and husband, Craig of Sulphur and Renee’ Day and husband, Byron of Vidor, TX; mother, Leota Bergeron of Church Point, LA; brothers, Harold Bergeron and Pat Bergeron both of Sulphur; sister, Bobbie Richard of Church Point, LA; 8 grandchildren, Bryan and Brent Dommert, Ashley Gould, Skye and Cole Bergeron, Meagan Woodard, Lyndsey Childs and Kaley Barnhart; 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John D. Bergeron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 11am, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Gilbeau will officiate.
