Irma Whitley Preller, 95, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in a local care center. She was a native of Dry Creek and had been a resident of Sulphur for many years. Irma and her husband, Mike, had lived in New York for many years before retiring to Jasper, Texas. She had been a member of the West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sister, Eva Hanson of Sulphur, and is preceded in death by three sisters, Cheneal Coleman, Eula Fuller, and Vera Adams; and two brothers, Clyde Whitley and Herman Whitley. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 19, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
