He was a native and longtime resident of Sulphur and a graduate of Sulphur High School. Dorsey served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Louisiana State Police. He was the owner and operator of "He's Not Here" Lounge in Carlyss. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Survivors include his children, Shawn Allison of Lake Charles, Chad Allison and wife, Amy of Lakeland, Florida, and Craig Allison and Sarah Allison, both of Lake Charles; his step-children, Jennifer Gayle Tarou and husband, Kent of Houston, Texas, Katie Gayle Keenan and husband, Ryan, and Travis Reilly Gayle and wife, Michelle, all of Sulphur; two sisters, Judith Allison Avery of Scott and Vicky Allison White and husband, Mickey of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Keanna, Luca, Jordan, and Evelyn; step-grandchildren, Greyson, Kensley, Emory, Murphy, and Luke; four nephews; and three nieces. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Elaine Allison; and his parents, Harmon D. Allison and Gladys Stockton Allison.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 18, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Jody Barilleaux will officiate. Inurnment will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly.
