Gwendolyn Ducote Fontenot

Gwen was born on March 23, 1951. She loved her family and she loved to sing. She had the incredible gift of a beautiful alto voice and formerly sang with the Sweet Adelines.

Left to cherish her memory are Flora Ducote Weldon, Pamela Ducote Smith and her huband Dwain, Rod Ducote, Jr. and his wife Peggy, Elise Ducote LeBoeuf and her husband Buckie, and Denise Ducote Derouen and her husband Tommy. Her nieces and nephews - Bo and Rosa Smith; Aunie and Wally Whatley; Mason, Gabriel, Elizabeth, Brennan-Brandy and Kyle Picard; Rod and Jessica Ducote,III; Dana and Jason Cheramie; Bryant and Danielle Ducote; Tyler, Claudia, Dalton, Helen, Logan, Emma, Devan, Cydnie, Laynie, Jaden, Owen, Chuck and Tina LeBoeuf; Clint, Corey and Megan LeBoeuf; Maegen, Charlie, Madeline, Kelsey, Kourtlin, Elijah, Colin, Catherine and Josh Parks; MaCenna and Mackey, and her beloved pet, Zoey. A special thanks to her caregiver and friend, Brady Laughlin.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. The family will receive friends from 9 - 11 a.m. in the church.
