Jerry lived in Sulphur since March 2006, moving from Shreveport. He was a member of the Sulphur First Baptist Church, and was a Christian first. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed golf. He was a member of the Gideons and was a Faith Walk servant. Jerry was a partner with the law firm of Simon, Fitzgerald, Cooke, Reed and Welch. He received his undergraduate degree in Education from Louisiana State University in 1985 and his Juris Doctorate from the Louisiana State University School of Law in 1990. He was a member of the Southwest Louisiana Bankruptcy Bar Association, Bossier Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, and is a member of the Booth-Politz Inns of Court. He was certified by the Louisiana Board of Specialization as a Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years Gina Breaux; daughters, Jana, Mariah, Dominique, Gabrielle and Heidi; sons, Bug, Zachary, J.J., Rylan and Damian; brothers, Ron, Frank and Darryl; and grandchildren, Isabelle, Harli, Andrew and Alexandre.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Vernice Breaux; sister, Ruth Ann; and brothers, John, Raymond and Donald.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, in the First Baptist Church of Sulphur. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Gideons at gideons.org.
