She was a native of Port Barre and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1957. Georgia loved to square dance and was an outstanding cook and seamstress. She will be remembered as an excellent mother and grandmother. The most important part of her life was her family. The love that she gave to them will never be forgotten and will carry on for generations.
Survivors include her children, Robert Day Walker III and wife Jennifer, Wayne Walker and wife Jennifer, Claudia Lognion and husband JJ, Patrick Walker and wife Ruth, Joseph Walker and wife Misha, Timothy Walker and wife Michelle, Anthony “Tony” Walker and wife Sandy, and Annette DeNote and husband Jimmy; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Robert Day Walker Jr.; her parents, George and Lela Lacasse Robin; daughter, Tammy Sue Marie Walker; and a grandson, Michael Clyde McVay Jr.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Sunday in the funeral home.
