Gary Joseph Smith, 52, of Sulphur passed away in a local hospital, on Saturday August 28, 2010.
He was a native of Sulphur and was past Manager of Kroger and Brookshire Brothers. He loved the outdoors especially fishing
He is survived by his daughter, Cortney Montgomery and husband Rob of Moss Bluff, his mother Ollie Smith of Sulphur, Brother Wendell Smith and wife Kimberley of Lake Charles, sisters; Shirlyn Faye Smith, Jackie Hebert and husband Michael of Sulphur. Grandchildren; Tristan, Keaton, Blake and Andrew Montgomery. He is preceded in death by his father Jimmy L. Smith and a brother Carroll Smith.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Rev. Jerry Boulanger officiating, Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 P.M. until 9 P.M. with a rosary at 7 P.M. Visitation will resume Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until time of service.
