Fannie S. Duplechin, 98, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, Lee and Fannie Scallan on October 10, 1924 in Bunkie, Louisiana. Fannie loved to sew and cook, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a long time parishioner at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Wayne Duplechin (Natalie) of DeQuincy, LA, Gary Duplechin (Carmen) of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Devitt A. Duplechin, Jr. of Sulphur, Louisiana; grandchildren, Sarah Paugh (Alex), Patrick Duplechin (Jessica), Amy Manning (Dean), Joe Duplechin (Christina), Tammy Evans (Jason), and Dylan Duplechin; seven great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Fannie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Devitt Duplechin, Sr.; parents; along with four sisters and one brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church in Sulphur, Louisiana on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 11:00 am, with Father John Welch officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home in Sulphur, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00 am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery in Westlake, Louisiana.
