Johnny was born in Great Falls, Montana. He was raised in Hineston, Louisiana and has been a resident of Sulphur for the past 21 years. He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School. He worked as a salesman for TNT Crane and Rigging.
Johnny was an avid outdoorsman and his many hobbies included golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was past Grand Master of Masonic Lodge #424 in Sulphur, was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and was a member of Masonic Lodge Fellowship # 217. He was proud to serve on the Cal-Cam Fair Board. Johnny loved meeting new people and had numerous friends. He was generous in life and in death as he gave the gift of life through organ donation.
Johnny was a loving husband and father. Left behind to honor his memory are his wife of 32 years and high school sweetheart, Carolyn Robinson of Sulphur; his mother, Madeline Akins of Sieper; his daughter, Nancy Daigle of Fort Collins, Colorado; his son, Randy Robinson of Sulphur; four brothers, Wade Robinson of Center, Texas, Wayne Robinson of Hineston, James Robinson of Mauriceville, Texas, and Buddy Robinson of Rosepine; a sister, Rhonda Smith of Hineston, and numerous other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, H.C. Robinson.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 6, in Lonestar Baptist Church in Hineston, Louisiana. The Rev. Sonny Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Lonestar Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. today in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.; and from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday in the church in Hineston.
