He was a native of Austin, Minnesota and had been a resident of Sulphur for 20 years, coming from Elton. Edward enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patsy D. Matti of Sulphur; three daughters, Patricia Brame and husband, Billy of Sulphur, Patrice Matti of Lake Charles, and Janalyn Arceneaux and husband, Pierre of Welsh; two brothers, David Matti of Baltimore, Maryland and Donald Matti of Grand Junction, Colorado; two sisters, Mary Jacobs of Hackensack, Minnesota and Judy Goergen of Austin, Minnesota; four grandchildren, James Brame, Bonnie Brame, Andrea Arceneaux, and Lea Ann Williams; three great-grandchildren, Zane, Jayden, and Brenden; and a special family friend, Yvonne Bertrand. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Marie Matti.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Darrell Hieronymus will officiate. Visitiation will be held in the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
