He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. Joe worked construction for many years in the local refineries. He was a member of the Sportsman's Bass Club. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry work, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Vanessa Joy Conrad of Sulphur; his children, Jessica Deville and husband, John of Naples, Florida, Eric Scheuchl and wife, Keelie of Des Moines, Iowa, Krystal van der Stucken and husband, Austin of Sulphur, and Natalie Conrad of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Jaydean Deville, Jonathon Deville, Tahnee Scheuchl, Summer Scheuchl, Gabe Daigle, and Amelia Conrad; two great-grandchildren, Jerake Deville and Jerrick Carrier, and one on the way, Knoxlie Elise Deville; his siblings, Charlie Conrad and wife, Linda of Iowa, Yvonne Leasure and husband, Gene of Sulphur, and Steve Conrad and wife, Karen of Sulphur; and sisters-in-law, Betty Conrad Eades and Tina Conrad, both of Sulphur. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Christle Conrad; and his siblings, George Conrad, Stanley Conrad, and Ina Mae Corbello.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 26, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Visitation is from noon until the time of service Friday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
