Dorothy enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cross word puzzles. She especially enjoyed fishing trips with her husband in her earlier years. She was and excellent cook, but baking was her specialty. Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons, Freddie Guidry, Jr. and wife Patricia Fournerat Guidry of DeQuincy, Richard “Ricky” Guidry and wife Wilda Kelley Guidry of Sulphur, and Jerrel Guidry and wife Renee Kickel Guidry of Sulphur; grandchildren, Jamie Neil Guidry and wife Amy Holly Guidry, Jennifer Guidry Young, Tammy Renee McManus, Tina R. Thompson, Tiffany R. Guidry, Jared Ryan Guidry and wife Jessica, and Summer Guidry; great grandchildren, Colby Navarre, Anna Young, Cassidy Guidry, Dylan Guidry, Eathan Guidry, Christopher Shane Guidry, Halley Gabrielle McManus, Hayden Gabriel McManus, Dusty Danae Guidry, Dannika R. Guidry, Riley Kay Guidry, Brantley Neil Guidry, Taylor Renee Moring.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Guidry, Sr.; great-granddaughter, Ariel Paige Guidry; and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Deacon Johnny Mounce will officiate. Visitation will be held 4 – 8 p.m. on Monday with a Rosary at 7 p.m. and the visitation will resume Tuesday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
