Donna Sue Benoit

She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur and a graduate of Sulphur High School. Donna Sue loved taking care of her cats. She worked 20 years with Gulf National Bank in Lake Charles as Head Teller.

Survivors include her mother, Joyce Hayes of Sulphur; her father, George Hayes of Sulphur; her brother, Ricky Dale Hayes of Lafayette; her former spouse, Christopher H. Benoit of Vinton; her aunt, Judy Laughlin; her cousins, Michelle Laughlin of Vinton and Mikel Lynn Laughlin of Chicago, Illinois; special friends, Mike Harmison, David Blakey, Kristine Lindsey, Cindy Landry Smith, Joannie Faye Armentor, Laura Thomas, Faye Cook, Susan Cormier, Randall Vincent, Cassi Vincent, Maci Vincent, Carla Jo Vincent, Gary Vincent, Debbie Renfroe, Brandy Exlin Harlow, Hunter Harlow, David Exline, Ashley Harlow, Burk Walker, Brian English, Clare English, Rennie Benoit, Beverly Moore, Danny Benoit, Travis Fox, Gastria Bourgeois, Guy Fox, Karen Fox, Mark Fox, Tanya Gaudet, Kelly Ray Walter, Digger Walter, Trish Walter, Sharon Trahan, Liz Trahan, David Alexander, Brently Perry; and her beloved cats, Butters, Toshiba, Sugar, Bear, Rocket, Dino, and Teetus. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Oran Joseph Laughlin and Agnes Laughlin; and her uncle, Clifford "Pie" Laughlin.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Cindy Landry Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Pallbearers will be Mike Harmison, Ricky Hayes, Christopher Benoit, Rennie Benoit, Mikel Laughlin, and David Blakey. Honorary pallbearers will be George Hayes, Randall Vincent, Gary Vincent, Mark Fox, Burk Walker, and Brian English. Visitation is from 5-9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday in the funeral home.
