Debbie had lived in the Sulphur area for several years. In her high school years, she and her beloved sister, Trissie were involved in the high school band and both were outstanding majorettes. She was so proud to see her granddaughter, Harlie Kay on the band field. Debbie loved life, in the past four years she fought a hard battle with grace and dignity against breast cancer. Debbie was known for her sweet disposition and caring nature. She was devoted to her family and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children, Jennifer Thompson Molitor, and husband Allen, and Robert Jared Thompson, of Sulphur; parents Lonnie and De-Ette Copes of Delhi, La.; one sister, Lynne Copes Hazard of Daphne, Alabama; sister-in-law Sandra Interiano and husband Migel of Delhi, La.; three grandchildren, Harlie Kay Molitor, Cole Wiley Molitor and Sean Joseph Molitor; she is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Robert Wiley Thompson; one sister Trissie Copes Pickett.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, in the Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, Sulphur, La. The Rev. Eddie Fuller will officiate. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Sulphur, La.
