Cyril Leonard

Cyril was a native of Enniskillen, Ireland, and had been a resident of Sulphur since 1960. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and then attended from Northwestern State. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. He owned and operated Cyril Leonard State Farm Agency for over 53 years and also worked in real estate. He was a very hard working man and helped many people in need.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lynn Leonard; his children, Kevin Leonard and wife Cathy, and Margaret Leonard Wright and husband Ian, all of Sulphur; his sister, Bernadette Lewis of Portville, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, Eamon Leonard, Emma Leonard, Liam Leonard, Andrew Wright and Clairelynn Wright.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Finton Leonard; his parents, John Andrew and Bridgett Ames Leonard; and eight siblings.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 15, in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. The Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation is from 5-8:30 p.m. Thursday with a rosary service at 6 p.m. and from 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
