Cynthia Karen Chambers

She was a native and long time resident of Lake Charles and had been a resident of the Sulphur/Westlake area for the last eight years. She was a member of Houston River Baptist Church. She retired after 31 years of service as an operator with Bell South/AT&T. She was a member of The Telephone Pioneers and the Ladies Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.)

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Jay Dee Chambers of Sulphur; her mother, Ruth Fults Sarvaunt of Clanton, Ala.; her daughter, Tara Chambers Wilson and husband Miles of Greenwood, Ind.; her siblings, Connie Sarvaunt Dean and husband Jimmy of Alabaster, Ala., Becky Sarvaunt Blessing and husband Bryan of Cypress, Texas, and Michael Wayne Sarvaunt and wife Dorothy of Helena, Ala.; her grandchildren, Alexandra Faye Wilson and Derek James Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dallas Lee Sarvaunt; and a nephew, Cody Dean.

Her funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. John Astling will officiate. Burial will be in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Ala. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 p.m. until the time of service Thursday in the funeral home.
