George was a longtime member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss. George proudly served his country in the US Airforce. He also was proud to be a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. He liked to hunt and fish, coached baseball while his sons were young, and played guitar in a Cajun band for many years. George was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ethel Kickel, son-in-law, Jeff Reeves, parents, Clifford Kickel and Jewel Alberty Kickel, brother, Curtis Kickel, and sister, Mary Kickel.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are four children, Renee' Guidry and husband, Jerrel, David Kickel and wife, Rose, Darla Reeves, and Scott Kickel and wife, Tara all of Sulphur; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; fur baby, Goner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and services will be private under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux will lead services.
