Christopher "Chris" Scott Carey, 51, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born to his late parents, Sunset and Carolyn Carey on September 18, 1971 in Parma, Ohio. He moved to the Sulphur area as a teenager and he called it home. He was employed by Choupique Properties as Head Maintenance. He could fix anything and loved working on cars or anything he could get his hands on. Chris enjoyed video poker, and enjoyed fishing in his younger days. He always had a helping hand and would help anyone who was in need.
He is survived by his loving fiance', Gwen LeDoux; children, Shannon Gosselin of Ohio, Dakota Carey (Reagan) of Carlyss, Louisiana, Nicholas Carey of Starks, Louisiana, and Zachary Carey of Starks, Louisiana, and bonus son, Justin Hebert of Carlyss, Louisiana; two brothers, Sunny Carey of Sulphur, Louisiana, and William Joseph Carey of Lake Charles, Louisiana; one grandson, Cohen; along with one on the way, Koda Carey.
Chris is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Wayne Carey and Adam Carey.
A Celebration of Chris's life will be held at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 6:00 pm, with Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, beginning at 5:00 pm.
