Brian was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Sulphur. He spent the majority of his school years at Jake Drost, where he graduated in 1995. During his childhood years, you could often find him enjoying time with his grandfather at Frasch golf course and Bayou Oaks Country Club. Brian also attended many dances put on for the special needs community at the American Legion Hall as well as attending summer camps put on by CARC.
Brian found joy in two things; music, especially Cajun/Zydeco, and his family. He loved to listen to his radio, rocking back and forth, while loudly singing the words. Sunday morning church hymns were also a favorite for him. His speech was sometimes unintelligible, but Brian taught all of us that when words fail, music speaks.
Brian brought so much laughter and love to his family. He was always ready to greet them with a “come on in” and hug or slap on the back. He adored each new baby that came along, wanting to hold them or lovingly tickle them. God blessed the family through Brian. He taught them that the worldly, material, insignificant, and complicated things in life aren’t important. All that truly matters is the unconditional love of family.
He is survived by his mother, Myra Kay Law Hoffpauir; his father, Woody Hoffpauir; his aunt, Glenda (Russell) O’Quinn; his cousins and best friends Angie (Robert) Hoffpauir and Tammy (Greg) Salinas; along with Kim (Brett) Buggeln. Brian is also survived by his cousins’ children who affectionately refer to him as “Uncle Brian”: Emma, Elliot, Audrey and Travis Hoffpauir, Raygan and Kathryn Suarez, Matthew, Michael, and Marissa Salinas, along with Kali, Harley and MaKenzie Hardy.
Brian is preceded in death by his grandparents, Myron and Kathryn Law and Norwood and Wilma Hoffpauir; along with his cousin, Addie Hoffpauir.
