She was a native of England, Arkansas and been a resident of Sulphur for the last 15 years, coming from Fort Valley, Georgia. Betty enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Wayne Hayes, Fred Leonard Hayes, Larry Edward Hayes, Richard Lee Hayes, James Darrell Hayes, Bobby Joe Hayes, Bobby Joe Hayes, and Frank Allen Hayes; step-children, Mary Newman and Rayford Moyer; her companion of 14 years, Donald Moyer; 21 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Leonard Hayes.
A graveside service will be at 3 pm. Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Macon Memorial Park in Macon, Georgia.
