Andrew Jackson "A.J." Willis, Jr. age 65, of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Andrew was born on February 23, 1956 in Houston, Texas.
"A.J." spent his growing up years between Dallas, TX and Creole, LA before settling down in Sulphur, LA. "A.J." loved to restore cars, working with his hands, hunting, fishing, dancing, grilling, but he especially loved to spend time with his family and having large gatherings.
Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Jackson Willis, and five sisters, Connie Guillory, Margaret Duhon, Debbie Geer, Nyola Burrington, and Becky Taylor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Carol Willis; daughters, Brandy Willis Mote and husband, Kelvin of Pyeongtaek, South Korea, Tiffany Willis Thornton and husband, Jimmy of Moss Bluff, Heather Sonnier of Sulphur, and Ashley Lopez and fiance', Jordan of Sulphur; grandchildren, Justin, Dylon, Logan, Zachary, Miles, Savannah, Maverick, Mykenzie, Jaxson, Colton, Ava, Ty, Atley, Arieanna, Bentley, Karson, Kyndall, Axel, and Aria; mother, Vernita Tillery; sisters, Nadine Bourriague, Judy Conner, and Barbara Portie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
