Bucky was born in Pride, Louisiana, on September 29, 1929, to William and Nellie Aucoin, who preceded him in death. Bucky served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. He also worked for many years for Citgo Petroleum Corporation until his retirement in the 1980's. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, master carpenter in his early years. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather (Paw Paw) great grandfather, and friend. He feared God and loved Jesus Christ, his savior. In his latter years his days were mostly filled with him singing songs of faith and praise to his Lord Jesus.
In addition to his parents, Bucky was predceded in death by his second wife, Clara (Walker) Aucoin; sisters, Emma White and Tressie Noble; brothers, William, Gardner, Milton, Ivy, Gilbert, Edward and Edgar Aucoin.
Left to cherish is memories are his children, Debra Shaddock ahd husband Chris, Marilyn Lasater and husband Jackey, Oran Kent Aucoin, Tanya Swindoll and husband Jody, and Derek Aucoin; grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great granddaughter; sister Viola Mire; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving Bucky is his first wife Alice Speights, his constant best friend, loving companion and caretaker for the last 6 years. She was a light for our father in his darkest days and an angel to her children, as she stepped in to help when it was most needed. She made the impossible, possible. We have all grown to love you as family, Laverne.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South in Carlyss. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
