Alice graduated from Innis High School in 1941 and from LSU with a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1944. Alice taught at Sulphur High School , Frasch, and WW Lewis until her retirement in May 1979. Alice was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sulphur. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Alice loved teaching and encouraged her students to believe in themselves and their ability to succeed.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Louis August Andrew Lynn, parents, Robert E. Lee and Jenny Gallent Lee, a brother, Gallent Lee.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Louis August Lynn and his wife, Tammy; son, Robert Lynn and his wife, Carrie; daughter, Jane Lynn Stine and her husband, Tim; grandchildren, Lee Lynn Belteau (Chris), Trace Lynn (Megan), Jess Lynn (Brittany), Donovan Strutt (Adriana), Jake Stine (Kelly), Amy Stine, and Alice Stine; and 15 great-grandchildren, Spencer, Sutton, Shep, Sully, Pepper, Everitt, Harrison, Evans, Emery, Reece, Andie-Jane, Olivia, Natalia, Tristan, and Brooklyn.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 and will resume from noon until time of service on Thursday at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Chapel. Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux will lead services. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss.
