Alice Ruth Jernigan

Ruth was a longtime resident of Sulphur, and a faithful parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She worked at the office of Charles L. Fellows, MD, as an office manager for many years. She enjoyed singing in the Choir, creating cards and poems for the church's Caring Ministry, painting and spending time with her large, adoring family.

Survivors include her six children, JoAnn Walker and husband Mike, of Ben Lormand, Arkansas; Pat Jernigan, Jr., and wife Dianna, of Houston, Texas, Vicki Nicholson and husband Charlie, of Brandon, Mississippi, Daryl Jernigan and wife Chris, of DeRidder, Billy Jernigan and wife Mary, of Houston, Betsy Jernigan of Sulphur; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Pat L. Jernigan; parents, Martial and Bessie Bienvenu; and 4 brothers and sisters.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday with a scripture service at 6 p.m.and from 8 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, all at the funeral home.
