Daughter of Mr. Paulo Bardoquillo Gallarde and Mrs. Socorro Trazo Estrella, she was the next to eldest of 6 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Crisanto Gallarde, Melinda Allego, Helen Gutierrez , Julius Gallarde, Paulo Gallarde, Ernesto Gallarde and Mona Liza Lopez their families, and 2 sons Breehan Reginald Bondoc and Robart Lex Bondoc.
During her childhood in Cebu, she enjoyed spending summers at the family tobacco farms and factory, continuing her visits until they were sold in the late 1980s. Zaida graduated from the Velez School of Nursing in Cebu City, Philippines, before moving to Deerfield, IL where she met her first husband, Bart Bondoc. She moved with her family to Florida, raising two boys Bren and Robby full time, before divorcing and starting her life in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed friends, church and philanthropy. She had a desire to help children with cancer and donated privately and anonymously to the American Cancer Society until she passed. She also had a love of travel and food. She favored warm destinations with great things to eat including Portugal, the Philippines and Bora Bora.
Zaida lived with a heart and spinal condition for the latter part of her life and passed peacefully in her sleep in March of 2023. She spent her final days among her sisters, nephew, niece and her eldest son Bren.
A Funeral Service & Celebration of Life for Zaida will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
