William “Bill” Burch, 82, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025. Born on September 4, 1942, in Fulton, Mississippi, Bill lived a life marked by devotion—to his country, family, faith, and his many passions.
A proud veteran, Bill served with honor in the United States Air Force before attending Houston Baptist University. He devoted his professional life to the oil and gas industry, where he worked diligently to support his family.
Bill was a man of deep commitment—both in service and spirit. He was a devoted St. Martin’s Lutheran Church member for over 35 years. He remained active in the community through his involvement with the South Texas PGA, the Houston I-Tour, and the Houston Golf Association. Golf was not just a pastime for Bill—it was a calling and a source of great joy. When he wasn’t on the green, he could be found behind a camera, capturing the world through his love for photography or enjoying a thoughtful game of online chess.
His parents, Herbert Burch and Nelda Susan, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Burch; his children, Teresa and Randy Graves, Philip and Tiffany Burch, Robert and Allison Burch; his grandchildren, Sean Palmer, Kaitlynn and Eric Cross, Micah Burch, and Levi Burch; his great-grandchildren, Alexis Palmer, Tatiana Palmer, Brandon Cross, and Jonathan Cross; and his siblings, Vickie Burch and David Bridges, and Beverly and Henry Springer.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Legacy at Longmeadow for embracing Bill as one of their own and providing compassionate care. Special thanks are also extended to the Wise family, the Bennett family, the Sullivan family, Pastor Tim Marquez, and the St. Martin’s Lutheran Church community for their enduring love and support.
Bill’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched—with quiet strength, warm humor, and a steady hand. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, with commemoration services starting at 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church, 1123 Burney Rd, Sugar Land, Texas 77498.
