Roger Randall Jones

Roger Randall Jones of Sugar Land, TX, formerly of Colorado Springs, CO died October 26, 2011. Roger was born on July 16, 1943 to Randall and Marjorie Jones in Joplin, MO. He attended school in Sioux City, IA and graduated from East High School in 1961. Roger attended college at Iowa State University, Colorado State University, and University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1981. Roger worked at Hewlett Packard in Colorado Springs for many years and then most recently at Halliburton in Houston.

Roger is survived by his wife Zhanna Jones; daughter Karen Conrad and husband Eric; son-in-law Frank; mother Marjorie, his step daughters Alina and Alexandra; four grandchildren Jacob, Erica, Logan, and Porsha; sister Judy; and brother Robert and his wife Joann. He is preceded in death by his father, Randall and daughter Sandra.

Roger was an adventurous man, always loving to be outside. He loved to camp, hike, ski, swim, bike, four wheeling, just to name a few of his interests. He was always looking for the next new adventure. Probably his biggest adventure was traveling to Russia to meet his present wife Zhanna. They were preparing to celebrate their 10th anniversary later this year.

Roger was a caring man and loved to help out his friends and neighbors. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Roger will be honored at a Memorial Service on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM in The Morrow Chapel, The Settegast Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, TX 77478. Immediately following there will be a reception at the funeral home, concluding at 3:30 with a larger reception to follow at the home of Zhanna Jones.

Planning is underway for a Memorial Service in Colorado Springs, CO, with location and date to be added as they are confirmed.
