Patricia Ann "Patty" Creedon Eppes passed away October 11, 2023, at the age of 89 in Trinidad, Colorado. Born February 27, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she spent most of her life residing in Houston, Texas and the surrounding area.
Patty was the second of four children born to Irene & Timothy Creedon, Sr., and was easily the most artistically talented of the four. As a child, Patty was the performer, whether she was on a stage or doing acrobatics. Patty was a fabulous dancer, either in the ballroom or as a solo performer on stage. Her other artistic abilities included drawing and painting. Many of her framed paintings hung in her parents' house. During the holidays she would add to the festivities by creating Christmas scenes she drew on the picture windows of her home. She also painted multiple wall murals in her home and was a fabulous decorator. At the age of 60 in 1994, she helped her daughter turn her car into a painted art car named the Cat's Meow. She had taken classes at the MFAH way back when.
In the 1960's, with her first husband, Nick Strine, she became a highly skilled driver in their foreign sports cars. Driving in competitions as a member of the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America), she received numerous skill driving trophies on her own. When Nick bought a motorcycle, she learned how to ride it, and off she went!
The family poker games brought all the siblings, their spouses and her parents together over the years to enjoy loud and lively contests of poker playing. Patty was especially known for her bluffing, never realizing that everyone knew exactly what she was up to.
After an amicable separation from her first husband, Nick, Patty met her late husband, Harry Eppes, at a dance party. After seven months of dating, they were married in August of 1977 and remained happily together until Harry's passing in March of this year.
Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Irene & Tim Creedon, Sr., her older brother, Phil Creedon and her husband, Harry Eppes. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nicole Strine (Ben), her sister Paula Scoggin (Harry), her brother Tim Creedon, Jr. (Kim), and numerous nieces and nephews. Family was most important to Patty and she loved each and every family member dearly.
A graveside funeral will take place on Monday, November 13th at 11:00 a.m. Friends are welcome to join the family. (Meet in the parking lot in front of the funeral home by 10:45 a.m., park, and then all vehicles will proceed behind her hearse to her final resting place.
