Pamela was born on December 3rd, 1949 in Manhattan, Kansas to Frances Mae Warren and Dr. David Wendell Warren and is the oldest child of four.
Her formal education was in Kansas City, MO where she attended Bishop Hogan High School. She later attended Howard University in Washington D.C. where she met a lot of friends at college including her best friend Mary Alice Smith. After two years at Howard University, Pamela returned home to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Rockhurst University in 1995.
In the process of earning her degree Pamela married the love of her life Vernon Patterson Jr. on May 10th, 1981. Facing a tremendous task of finishing her degree while raising four children, together with her husband, Pamela persevered and continued to attend the children’s school programs, sporting events and beauty pageants on her way to earning her degree as education was very important to her.
As a working mother of four, Pamela was a devoted and accomplished Level 2 NICU nurse for over 40 years. She found her calling and passion in helping sick babies become healthy again. It was a joy for her to see a mom who had a sick baby be able to hold a healthy baby in her arms again. She also found joy in encouraging tearful mothers through the process of getting their child back healthy again.
Pamela was very passionate about her family and holiday celebrations. Her favorite holiday was Christmas where she would spend time with family and host the family Christmas dinners. She loved wrapping gifts and made sure everyone in the family received a gift on Christmas day. Pamela lived for her family and cherished motherhood, which gave her inspiration to fight cancer daily.
Pamela also served as the President of the Creekmont Homeowner’s Association where she presided over 495 homes from 2016 to 2018.
She is survived by her husband Vernon Patterson Jr, her children David Christopher Warren (Overland Park, KS), Corey Ford (Houston, TX), Alisha Robinson (Houston, TX), and Matthew Patterson (Kansas City, MO); Her mother Frances Warren; two sisters Sharon Warren and Shelia Person; She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Kayla Warren, Tamar Robinson, Kennedy Patterson, Savannah Patterson, and Matthew Patterson Jr. and a host of cousins in Kansas City, nieces, nephews and friends.
