Lois Esther Aycock Wilson Havard, graduated from her earthly life to her eternal Home with Christ on January 8, 2023. She was born on November 1, 1925 in Rapides Parish, Louisiana to William E. Aycock, Jr. and wife Caroline. Lois truly grew up in church, attending seven times a week and knew what she was doing at age 6 when she accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior, going forward together with her brother. Her youth was shared with two brothers, William E. Aycock, Jr. and Cecil Willard Aycock.
Lois graduated from Buckeye High School in Louisiana, and attended college in Lake Charles, when they offered no tuition. She taught Sunday School at Hickory Grove Baptist Church and was Director of evening Training Union.
Lois and Wyatt A. Wilson were married in 1942; he passed away in 1976. She then raised their children, Jerry Wallace Wilson and James Wyatt Wilson and went to work as an Executive Secretary, learning how to save her earned income and invest wisely. She enjoyed playing bridge and sewing, and said she was always cleaning house.
In 2003 Lois and Dr. J. Dalton Havard, a pastor and widower, were married until his passing in 2016. They moved from Clear Lake to Sugar Land when he returned as Pastor Emeritus of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Lois loved Sugar Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed many visits with her friends and pastors from church. She always had a sweet smile for you and was a great inspiration to so many. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Lois is predeceased by her parents, two brothers, both beloved husbands, and two sons. She is survived and remembered by her loving grandson Jerry W. Wilson II, Jerry’s sisters Staci Wilson Anderson of Austin Texas and Traci Wilson of League City, TX and Jerry’s mother, Sharon Wilson of Austin Tx. Jerry Wilson, Sr. (Jerry’s Dad) passed away12 years ago. Lois is also survived by her great-grandson Ayden James Wilson (11).
A Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at The Settegast-Kopf CO @ Sugar Creek.
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
