Lisa Ann (Collins) Cook, 65, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven, surrounded by her family, on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022. She is now in the arms of Jesus, singing with the angels and reunited with her family that preceded her Heavenly arrival. Lisa was born in Houston, Texas on October 12, 1956, to Robert and Inez Collins. Lisa had a large extended family and is survived by her sisters, Sheri (Collins) Bright, (Richard) , and Shelley Hagar.
Lisa grew up on the southwest side of Houston, in the Westbury area, and attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Lisa was a talented vocalist who loved the opportunity to share her gift with others, whether at church or on numerous social occasions. Lisa loved the Lord with and the Word of God and served Him with her whole heart. She saw the best in people, never met a stranger and had an amazing zest for life. Lisa always greeted you with a warm smile with every encounter and embraced her friends and family who were the most important part of her life. Lisa also loved her "Projects", whether decorating her home, or helping to design yours, working in her amazing gardens, or sewing clothes for her children and grandchildren. As anybody who knows her can attest, she was a force of nature.
Lisa lived a full and rich life, and is survived by the love of her life, Brendan Donald Cook, and her beloved children, Sarah Cunningham, Joseph Wilson III, and Elisabeth Embrey (Brent). Lisa is also survived by her adoring stepchildren, Kristin Schwartz( Brad) , Allison Austin(Judd), Shannon Picasso(Eduardo), and Matthew Cook.
Lisa was blessed to be able to spend the last decade of her life traveling the world. Among other adventures, Lisa walked across the Great Wall of China, climbed the Eiffel Tower, visited the Vatican, walked through Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall, toured the castles of Dublin, and often visited her favorite city of London with family and friends over the years.
Her greatest joy though, was spending time with family, her husband, children, and grandchildren, including Joshua, Heather, Matthew, James, Emma, Maggie, Grayson, River, Vivian, Judd IV, Jackson, and Joanie. The holidays without Lisa will never be the same, who was an amazing host and always turned Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and anyone's birthday into a true celebration. At the end of the day, Lisa appreciated simple things in life, especially her family, although a trip to the Galleria, or Memorial City Mall was always welcome as well. Lisa's indelible spirit will always live on in our hearts.
We will never forget the four yearlong valiant battle she fought with cancer and the inspiration she provided for all of us during it all. Cancer was a small chapter in Lisa's life, not the whole story. Indeed, Lisa trumped cancer by how she lived and the example she set for us all.
Lisa is finally free from the limits of this world and has now joined her Lord and Savior on Resurrection Sunday as her final reward. A celebration of Lisa's life will be held on Friday April 22, 2022, at The Settegast-Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek Funeral Directors 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas. at 10:00 AM. Chaplain Dave Hassler Officiating A visitation will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek on Thursday April 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM It will be livestreamed for friends and family everywhere ( Link Will Be Added).
