Joe and Sandy were married on May 20, 1976. They lovingly welcomed three children, Britt, Brynn and Kelly, all born in Wichita, Kansas.
As a boy growing up in Hampton, Virginia, Joe enjoyed his collie Laddie, fishing, crabbing, and outdoor activities in the Chesapeake Bay area. He attended schools in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Hampton High School. Joe graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1972.
After graduation, Joe’s career began as an Estimator with Litwin Engineers in Wichita, Kansas, subsequently transferring to Houston, Texas. Joe also worked as Houston Director of Estimating for ABB Lummus, and retired from Fluor as Executive Director of Estimating.
During his career, Joe and Sandy enjoyed working and living in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Netherlands, and Calgary, Alberta. He especially enjoyed working with friends and colleagues.
Throughout his adult life, Joe enjoyed fly fishing, kayak fishing, travelling with his family and friends, camping, and skiing. He also adored his wife and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, and truly enjoyed his retirement.
Joe was loved by those who went before him and is remembered and loved by those he left behind: his wife of 40 years, Sandra Davidson Scott; parents, Walter Duval and Madge West Scott (both deceased); son, Britt Davidson Scott (deceased 1981); daughters, Brynn Scott Weeks and husband Jason, Kelly Scott Morales and husband, Sean; grandchildren, Penelope Weeks, Vivienne Weeks, and Baby Girl Morales; sister, Patsy Scott Arehart and husband, Larry (Arizona); nephew, Scott Arehart and children, Ethan and Taylor (Arizona); brothers-in-law, Nelson “Ned” Davidson (wife Bertie) and Van Davidson; sister-in-law, Sheryl Thompson; and nieces and nephews, Cathy, Julie, Clint, Kim and Joel.
The memorial service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in The Morrow Chapel at The Settegast-Kopf Company at Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas 77478. Light refreshments will be served immediately following the memorial service.
