Jeanne Eileen Heath, 85, of Sugar Land, Texas passed peacefully in her sleep due to respiratory failure. Jeanne had a long and full life, happily married 66 years to the love of her life Berle Heath. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother (Nanny).
Jeanne was talented in so many ways and her creative nature was a major influence on her life. As a master seamstress, she enjoyed making the latest fashions for herself and others, even business suits for her husband. Her handiwork continued to be challenged throughout her life with various special projects including evening gowns, bridesmaid dresses and culminating with design and development of unique dance costumes. Her eye for fashion extended to jewelry design which was featured in major jewelry stores for over 50 years.
An accomplished hostess, traveling and entertaining for business and pleasure throughout the world. Her fine dining events in her home were memorable featuring her culinary expertise, home décor, and lush gardens, showcasing many different event themes. Jeanne had an appreciation for art, and tried her hand at various mediums including painting and cake decorating. In her leisure time she enjoyed time by the pool, in the garden, wine tasting and games with family. She’ll retain her title as family domino champion forever with a recent win.
Jeanne had high expectations and strong family values. Born in San Antonio, the eldest daughter of Eugene and Estelle Dowdy’s six children, where she learned from a young age to care for others. Jeanne was an inaugural freshman and graduate of the Marian Year at Providence Catholic High School and was an active Sodality member. A young model and Miss Teen of Texas was a memorable experience for her. She was most proud of her role as wife and mother, supporting her family through numerous activities and organizations such as church, scouting, band concerts, football games, dance contests, and community theatre.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband Berle Heath, her daughters Dr. Eileen Stansbery (Gene) and Pamela Heath, and sons Dr. Michael Heath (Marilee) and David Heath (Diane). Grandchildren Christine Chowdhury (Nayeem), Melanie Smith (Joshua), Joshua Heath (Ariana), Shannon Heath and Alicia Heath (Ben). Great grandchildren Aiden Smith, Laycee Smith, Kynzlee Rhodes and Noorah Chowdhury.
Most of all she loved her family and instilled in them her passions and beliefs. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A private family Celebration of Life will be held, in lieu of a service.
