1962 – 2021
Jim, at the age of 59, leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Tami; his sister Stephanie and her husband Bill Dodd; brothers Joseph and his wife Becky; Cosmo and his wife Renee; Stevie and his wife Terry; brother in law Jeff; sisters- in-law Beth and her husband Cary; Laurie and her husband Martin; his three children: Will, Vince and Andrew. Jim now joins his parents, Steve and Rosemary in eternal life.
Jim was a lifelong Houstonian, and was proud to tell you that he grew up on the “East End” embedded in the Italian culture, which contributed to many colorful people and stories. After moving to Sugar Land in 1978, he attended Dulles High School. He made many friends in the community through both school and baseball adding to an incredible childhood. Jim then went on to graduate from his beloved Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth. Go Frogs!
After graduation, he joined his family in creating their now 42-year-old business. In 2013, Jim and his brothers started another successful franchise business.
When it came to his family, Jim loved his boys dearly. He was always involved in their lives whether that be coaching, practicing or just being there to talk like a best friend. Many of the boys’ friends and teammates Jim coached can attest to the effect he had on their life.
Lastly, Jim cherished the relationship he had with his lovely wife, Tami, having been together for a total of 35 years. The relationship, sacrifice and love they shared created a model for their boys to continue to follow through the rest of their lives.
Please join us in celebrating his wonderful, colorful life Tuesday, August 3rd for a Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. at The Settegast-Kopf Co @ Sugar Creek Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, August 4th at 10 a.m. at St. Laurence Catholic Church 3100 Sweetwater Blvd in Sugar Land.
