Harriett was born on June 16, 1936 in Houston, Texas as the daughter of Robert Benton Kinzbach and Mary Chandler Kinzbach. She was a lifelong resident of the Houston Metro Area, graduating from San Jacinto High School and receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Rice University.
On June 7, 1958, Harriett married her childhood sweetheart DeWitt Morrow. They went on to have three children; John Morrow, Robert (Bob) Morrow and Marianne Morrow Brooks. Harriett was a long-time resident of Sugar Land, Texas, and was a devoted member of Christ Church Sugar Land. Harriett was an active member of the Houston Junior Forum, the Owen Wister Literary Society at Rice University and the Sugar Creek Women's Association. Always active in church, Harriett taught Bible studies and served the Church in many other capacities.
Harriett is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, DeWitt Morrow, her children, and their spouses; John and Juliette Morrow, Bob and Beth Morrow, and Marianne and Scott Brooks; and her sister, Mary Ellen Wilson. She was the proud grandmother of Miles Morrow, Daniel Morrow, Luke Morrow, Tucker Morrow, Chandler Howell (Morrow) Sullivan, Lauren Brooks and Jason Brooks who all knew her as their Grammy. She had nine great grandchildren who all knew her as Gigi. Harriett was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Mary Chandler Kinzbach.
Harriett enjoyed spending time with her husband, her family, and her many friends. She was a positive influence for those that knew her and was adored by all. Harriett enjoyed traveling, reading, and playing bridge with friends. She was also a very talented seamstress and artist.
The family would like to express their profound appreciation to her pulmonologist, Dr. Tehmina Badar, as well as the staff at The Houston Hospice, for the incredible care and support they provided to Harriett and the family.
Celebration of Life services will be held November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Christ Church Sugar Land, 3300 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, TX 77479.
