Debra Lynn Denison McMahon, born on September 29, 1956, in Alvin, Texas, passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 68 at her home in Sugar Land with her family at her side. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Debbie's life was marked by her love for family, friends, and her work in the professional world.
Debbie worked as an office manager at Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott LLP, where she was highly regarded by her colleagues and peers. She was an active member of the Texas School Assessor Association (TSAA), the Texas Association of Assessing Officials (TAAO), and several other professional organizations. Debbie enjoyed traveling across the state to attend work conferences and events, where she formed lasting friendships. She also had a knack for finding the nearest shopping mall during her travels.
Beyond her work, Debbie cherished spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. Known as "Nana," she spoiled her granddaughters at every opportunity, teaching them that Nana never said no. She adored traveling with her family, with many fond memories spent in the Destin, Florida area, where summer vacations at the beach became a family tradition.
A lifelong lover of reading and art, Debbie also enjoyed attending the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo each year, where she supported her brother, Darrell Denison, as he showed his cattle from 4D Ranch. True to her nature, she also found time for a little shopping while at the rodeo.
Debbie was a passionate cook, an art she inherited from her mother and passed down to her daughter and granddaughters. She took great joy in preparing meals for her family and friends, making sure everyone felt loved through her delicious cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Whitney Denison and Helen Addy Denison; her son, Shannon Patrick McMahon; her sister-in-law, Laurel Ann McMahon Bartels; and her dear friends Toni Trumbull and Kathy Ellis.
Debbie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Edward Shawn McMahon; her daughter, Kristen Leigh McMahon Hudson (Nicholas Hudson) of Richmond, Texas; her brothers, James D. Denison (Diana) of Wichita, Kansas, and Darrell Glenn Denison (Tamra Lee) of Alvin, Texas; her cherished grandchildren, Aubrey Nicole Hudson, Kayleigh Ann Hudson, and Makenzie Lynn Hudson; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Robin Lindsey Martin, Jennie AraSmith, Christine Cearfoss, Chad Denison, Bradley Lane Denison, and Derek Whitney Denison.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the PBFCM Law Firm, especially Mike Darlow, Donnie Roseman, Jason Bailey, and Greg East, as well as Debbie's former assistants Mary Ruiz and Crystal Greb, for their unwavering support and care. To Debbie, they were more than colleagues—they were family.
Special thanks to Bayou City Hospice and Nurse Next Door, particularly Tori, Sabrina, Sister Gloria, Anna and Debbie’s newfound sister, Jackie, for their comfort and support throughout her journey.
