Dean Edward Hansen passed away peacefully in Harbor Hospice on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 64 years. Dean was born on September 11, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa to Harry and Mildred Klemmensen Hansen. He was baptized on October 4, 1953 at Third Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. In 1997, he met and married Teresa “Terry” Peyton Paul in Houston, Texas. They have resided in Sugar Land, Texas for the last twenty years. Dean was a faithful member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Houston. Dean is preceded in death by father, Harry Hansen and mother Mildred Klemmensen Hansen Vavra. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Peyton Hansen; brother Dennis Hansen; step-sister, Mona Vavra Meyer (Dale); step-brother, Tom Vavra; step-sister Carol Vavra Reifenrath (Joe); and many nieces,nephews, in-laws, and dear friends. Dean graduated from Oklahoma State Tech-Okmulgee in 1975 with an Associated Degree in Technical Drafting and Design. He began his career in Wichita, Kansas, and was ultimately transferred to Houston, Texas while employed by Litwin (for which his wife is eternally grateful). Jacobs’ Engineering was his last stop before being called home to heaven. Dean truly enjoyed his career choice and the many friends he made during his journey. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek in Sugar Land, Texas. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church located at 1353 Witte Road, Houston, Texas; Rev. Harold Fleischhauer will officiate the services, with a reception to follow. Interment will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Henry-Peyton Cemetery in Benchley, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Auxiliary Goldie Fund.
