Britney Angelique Perez, a sophomore at Northwestern University passed away on February 23, 2025. She was born in Houston, TX on November 3, 2004 to Juan and Sonia Perez and had a love of learning, social justice, and dance from a young age. Britney attended KIPP Houston High School and graduated with honors. A proud first-generation college student, she was thrilled to attend Northwestern University as a Learning Sciences and Sociology major. Quick to inspire, laugh, and encourage, she will be remembered as a trailblazer and lifelong learner. Her care and determination inspired her friends and family to live more bravely and selflessly each day.
A BigFuture Scholarship recipient, Britney had a lifelong love of learning and research, as well as a passion to understand social issues affecting first generation Americans and college students. She used her natural leadership skills as Student Group Caucus whip in The Associated Student Government Senate at Northwestern to effect positive change in her university.
A loving sister, daughter, and friend, she is deeply missed by her parents, Juan and Sonia, and her family, Wendy, Johnny, Matthew, and Ashley.
A funeral service will be held at The Settegast-Kopf Company @ Sugar Creek on March 7th at 6:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be held on March 8, at 10:00 AM at Lakewood Church.
