Anthony Myers, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Harriet Furman and Leroy Brown on December 15, 1955. He went home to his Savior on October 17,2016, surrounded by songs of worship and praise by the love of his life, Cynthia, and his two daughters, Rolanda and Nicole.
Anthony wed Cynthia Baldwin on August 20, 1977. His love for his wife was deep and abiding, a true example of God’s desire for marriage. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Rolanda of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Nicole of Houston, Texas.
Anthony had a passion for the Word of God. While he worked in many capacities throughout his life none was more important or impactful than his time as a Reverend, teacher and willing servant at Philippian Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2010, he and Cynthia moved to Sugar Land, Texas where he was an active member of River Pointe Church, in Richmond, Texas, serving on both the church prayer team and Friends of North Richmond prayer team. He loved his church family and was a great disciple to many. His deep love for Christ and knowledge of the bible was echoed in his nickname, “Bible Man”.
Anthony is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Cynthia; his daughters Rolanda Myers and Nicole Myers; son Anthony “Popsi” Revere and wife Melia and their son Lavine; son Khalil Williams and wife Lakisha and their sons Khalil II, Khaliyf, Khalid, Khalique; daughter Ella Harris and husband Mark and their daughters Kalisha and Kierra; daughter Selyn McCoy and sons Lawrence and Demetrius; his sister Brenda Johnson and husband James; sister-in-law Gloria Cowan and husband Steve; sister-in-law Teresa Williams; sister-in-law Beatrice Ross and husband Gregory; sister-in-law Lisa Robinson and husband Bryant; brother-in-law Walter Baldwin, Jr. ; brother-in-law Jeffrey Baldwin and wife Rosalind; uncle Bernard Brown and wife Yvonne; and an aunt Geraldine Potter. He is preceded in death by brothers Robert Myers, Frankie Myers, brother-in-law Matthew Baldwin and one grandchild. Anthony also leaves behind two great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
