Bill was born to William L. Weber and Susanna Weber, née Keeber, on January 4, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY. He married Marie Ann Moreo on May 1, 1955, and they moved their family to Suffern in 1968. Marie passed away in May of 2019 after they celebrated 64 happy years of marriage together. Bill was educated at Brooklyn Technical High School and Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (NYU School of Engineering), receiving his degree in chemical engineering. He then served his country for two years as a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, followed by a successful career as an Engineer and Project Manager for many years at M. W. Kellogg and finishing his career at ISP.
Bill was the proud patriarch of our family-- a beautiful and nimble dancer, a joyous skier, a talented bowler— he loved life and people! Nothing made him happier than gatherings of family and friends, greeting all with his big smile and a hearty handshake, or maybe a dance step or two. He loved to share stories of his life, and to hear what was happening in all our lives. For the last year his home was at Sunrise of New City, and the staff and residents there became another branch on his family tree.
Bill is survived by his cherished daughters, Diane Weber (Vincent Licht) and Lilia Weber (Kate Weber). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Timothy Licht (Maggie Astor), Anna Weber (Dan Robinson), Marcy Ekanayake-Weber (Adeesha Ekanayake-Weber), Piera Licht, William Gulian, and Joseph Gulian, and also by his caring nephews Norman Friberg (Mary Friberg) and Ken Friberg (Christine Friberg) and all his many, many, beloved family and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be scheduled at a later date, to honor his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s honor to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956, or the Kidney Cancer Association, 2929 Allen Parkway Suite 200, Houston, TX 77019.
