Vera was born on April 20, 1934 to Karl G. Stelzer and Elfriede Lungstrass of Franklin Lakes, NJ. She married Edward A. Marse in 1963 and they moved to Sloatsburg, New York where they raised their two sons, Edward J. Marse and George K. Marse.
In addition to her sons, Vera leaves behind her very dear friends of many years, Lois Knapp of Arizona, Elaine Edwards of New Mexico and Sandra Kohl of Suffern with whom she shared the adventures of a lifetime.
Her great love of animals was always her passion and she was an accomplished horsewoman in her youth. Her creative spirit manifested itself while raising her children in her very successful crafting, organic gardening and carpentry skills, the latter of which she learned from her father, a well-known and successful carpenter and cabinet maker in Bergen County, NJ. Both of parents were German immigrants who had arrived in the United States in the mid 1920s.
Vera began her career at the A&P corporate offices in Paterson, NJ and it ended at Ramapo College of New Jersey where she retired in 1999.
Funeral arrangements are private.
