Dr. Theresa Jackson graduated Cornell University Medical College in 1978. Here several of us are gathered at our class reunion in Lower Manhattan in 2018. TJ and I were involved with organizing this memorable event. She worked tirelessly to make the evening a success. Without her efforts  this would not have been possible. Her laugh and genuine spark will be missed. Amiga, Rest In Peace.

Dr. Jackson, as she preferred to be called, was an active member of her community.  She was a devout member of the St. Joseph's choir in Spring Valley, NY under the leadership of organist and choir director,  Marianne Jordan.   Theresa was my "sister" from another mother.  She often introduced us and referred to us as her "choir sisters".   Theresa became an integral member of our family and was often present at birthday parties, barbecues, holiday celebrations and weddings of the Armstrong,  Berotte,  Joseph,  and Montanez families.  Dr. Theresa Jackson played a special role as the MC- Mistress of Ceremonies-  at the 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration of our parents -Leonce and Nadia Berotte.  She was proud to be asked and thrilled to accept that role.  Theresa had a great sense of humor and a jovial, contagious laugh.  She touched the lives of many people that she came in contact with.  I will hold the many happy, fond memories of her in my heart.  May she rest in eternal peace. Amen

-A Tribute to  Dr. Theresa , (Terry ) Jackson  from Daphne Caison Armstead, Sister of Dr. Jann Caison Sorey.  Dr. Carl Caison is our brother 
I, Daphne Caison Armstead am a former NYC , DOE High School Teacher for NYS, HS Regents Living Environment, Biology  Exams . I am also a former HS Administrator- Principal of Science and Math, of a Brooklyn New York City , High School.
Dr. Terry Jackson  did her medical residency with my sister Jann Caison Sorey, MD.  Jann informed the family that our dear family friend was sick and not doing well . We did not know how and when we would be able to visit Terry in the Willow, Ramaco, Nursing Home. 
Sunday Nov, 6 2022.  was not an ordinary day. God summoned  my brother and I to Terry's bedside at 6pm. I had no idea that Carl and I were not the only visitors. Gods angels were also in the room.  Carl and I prayed for Terry' . I put my cell phone to her ear so that Jann could also pray for her. I placed my hands on Terrys' chest and I told  Terry that we loved her.  I also told her that the world appreciated her research on infectious diseases , work that the world is  benefitting  from now, job well done.                                                               
  I, Daphne , Carl and Jann learned later that while we were praying  for Terry , the Angels in the room opened their  wings to take flight at about 725pm, on Sunday  November 6,  2022  and before they left  they lifted Terry and took her with them to God's Heaven to be with God.  

I am so proud and  eternally grateful that God chose and summoned me, Carl and Jann to be  with Dr. Theresa Jackson as she transitioned from this Mother Earth to be with our Spiritual Father God and His angels eternally.

I worked with Dr. Theresa ‘Terry’ Jackson at Montefiore CHCC. She was caring and dedicated to her patients. Terry was a great colleague and a good friend. She was a straight talker. Her passing is a great loss. May she Rest In Peace.

I am a physician colleague of Dr Theresa (Terry) Jackson. Terry did her undergraduate work at Hunter College and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Weill Medical School, Cornell University. We did our residency training in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Montefiore University Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York. As Terry's senior resident I got a chance to really know her. Terry was an extremely bright and astute physician. We did overnight calls together working the acute & chronic care inpatient wards, emergency dept and the ICUs for newborns, children and adolescents. Terry was both admired and much loved by her physician colleagues. She was smart with an infectious laugh and great sense of humor. Terry joined a large community practice and provided excellent care to all her patients. Because of her skills, Schering Plough (now Merck) Pharmaceutical Company recruited her. While there, Terry played a key role and was instrumental in spearheading the national research and development of a major antibiotic, which to this day, is saving the lives of many. Thank you, Dr. Theresa Jackson, for your brilliance and dedication. You worked many hours & applied your knowledge to lead a clinical research team to develop a medication that benefits so many! Job well done. As a twist of fate, our paths crossed again at the end of her life. I knew Terry was ill, but don’t live in NY but my siblings do.  I asked my sister, Daphne Caison-Armstead, (NYC High School Principal) and brother, Dr Carl H. Caison (Internal Medicine Physician) to travel 1 ½ hours’ drive to visit Terry for me. They visited her Sunday, 11/6/22 at 6PM. They called me and we prayed for her in her room. With phone to her ear, I spoke to her. We later learned Terry transitioned during that time unbeknownst to us. God is Good and she is with him now. God Bless you Terry. Thank you to my siblings Daphne and Carl.   T. Jann Caison-Sorey, MD

Surprised and sad to hear of her passing. Wonderful person. A trail maker in her chosen field, medicine and developing of vaccines.  We met though the Cornell University Alumni association in Rockland County. We both were actively involved on the Board and would attend events. Very friendly and outgoing.  She will be missed.
