Sylvia Marie Salva, 98, passed away on December 7, 2022, after a long and full life. Born on October 25, 1924, she grew up in an idyllic town in rural south Jersey. During World War II, she worked in the chemistry lab of the Roebling steel mill, and after the war she married Andrew M. Salva, moved to Bergen County, raised 2 children in Tenafly and managed her husband's hairdressing salon in Englewood, NJ. Widowed after 45 years, she brought her expertise in china and silver to her work as a sales consultant at Bloomingdale's. She retired to south Jersey and reconnected with many friends of her youth. In 2017, she moved to Airmont, NY to be with her family. Her last 1½ years were spent at the Willows of Ramapo nursing home in Suffern.
Sylvia is survived and remembered by her daughter Christine Marlow, her son-in-law Thomas Marlow, her son, Andrew T. Salva, her daughter-in-law Diane Bulwin, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.
